Has anybody used the Traeger pellet Smoker? I was looking for a new smoker last weekend, and came across this. It works on the same principle as a pellet stove, using a electric auger to move different "flavored" pellets to a smoking chamber. I say flavored, because you can buy onion & garlic flavored as well as your standard oak, hickory, apple, cherry, etc. All the heat is generated by the pellets, although an electric element comes on for about 3-4 at the beginning to get everything going. It looks alot like the offset charcoal smokers with the hopper on the side, where the smoker chamber usually is. Looked interesting.
I went to look at the cookshack 009, and was surprised by how small it was. The salesman was really talking up the green egg as his favorite. For now, I'll stick with my old MECO electric I've had for about 20 years.

I've seen on in action but wasn't overly impressed.

This guy has done well with his version of burning pellets but the cost is pretty steep.
