Bill's Barbecue Sauce

Homemade BBQ Sauce

1 medium Onion, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup Ketchup
1/2 cup Water
1/4 cup White Vinegar
1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
2 tbsp fresh Lemon Juice
2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
2 tbsp Light Brown Sugar
1 tbsp Mustard
1 1/2 tsp Salt
1 1/2 tsp Liquid Hickory Smoke
1/2 tsp Ground Black Pepper
1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper

In a medium saucepan, bring to a boil the lemon juice, onion, vinegar, water, brown sugar, mustard, ground black pepper, salt,
cayenne pepper and vegetable oil. Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes.Stir in the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and liquid smoke. Return the sauce to a boil and then remove from heat. Refrigerate until ready to use.

Thanks for the recipe Steve.  I have some chicken thighs going on the grill and I'll use this sauce,

Turned out great!  I did leave out the liquid smoke part since I had enough coming from the hickory chips that were on the gas grill.
