To old to risk a stroke on these high heat index days.  Lost a friend this week to a heart attack that was my age and it makes you think.  He was a roofing contractor and I guess his nickel was spent.  He was not a close personel friend but good to see on the street and shake his hand.

Temps here have been in the mid to upper 90s with a heat index well over 100.

Still, hope to do my first pork shoulder tomorrow.

DKM my I suggest keep the seasoning simple.  Use a hald and half mixer of kosher salt and black pepper.  Lightly coat the meat with mustard like Frenchs then add the salt and pepper.
